BOTOX was the original neurotoxin used to smooth the appearance of wrinkles on the head, face, and neck. At Blue Sparrow Beauty & Aesthetics, we offer newer formulations of the original BOTOX called Xeomin, Dysport, and Daxxify.
All these neurotoxins work by inhibiting signal transduction to muscles. A few small injections in each treatment area relaxes the muscles and decreases the facial movement that causes wrinkles and lines. As a result, the treatment area–forehead, brow area, eyes, or mouth–tends to relax and soften, creating a more youthful appearance.

How does treatment with neurotoxins work? Small, fine needles inject the neurotoxins in the precise muscle and location for maximum effect on the area of concern. We discuss the plan and approach that is right for you so you can be confident that your concerns are being addressed at the appointment.

How many units will I need? The number of units will vary depending on your region(s) being treated, desired outcome, and lifestyle habits. The new patient consultation appointment and forms will help guide our treatment plan to customize your dosage for your desired result.
How long does it take for neurotoxins to work? Injections to decrease wrinkles can begin working in 3-5 days, but can take up to 14 days for maximum results to be achieved.
How long do results last? The longevity of your neurotoxin treatment depends on many metabolic and lifestyle factors, but three months is a typical duration for your neurotoxin treatment.
How soon after an injection can I apply sunscreen, cosmetics, or skincare products? You may use sunscreen, cosmetics, or skincare products after your treatment, but avoid applying excessive pressure to the treatment area for 24 hours to minimize unwanted spread of the neurotoxin.
What are the aftercare instructions following neurotoxin treatment? Avoid for 24 hours: > Massaging or applying pressure to treated areas > Exercising, showering, or using a sauna > Wearing tight hats or headbands if the forehead or frown line area was treated. Avoid facial massage, microdermabrasion, laser treatments, peel procedures, and similar aesthetic treatments for at least 2 weeks after treatment with neurotoxins. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser the day of treatment, but avoid massaging or using abrasive exfoliants or scrubs.
